GYG nutrition FAQ
The practical questions that come up once you start customising: swaps, fryers and why totals can differ. For calories on specific items, see the menu, and for salt, the GYG sodium ranking.
Can I swap white rice for brown rice, and what does it change?
The published information includes a brown rice swap for burritos, bowls and minis. In a burrito it changes the total by -14 Cal and adds 0.9 g of fibre. In a bowl the change is -22 Cal. Pick the swap in the meal builder and the new totals appear straight away.
What happens if I swap black beans for pinto beans?
In a regular item, pinto beans add 35 Cal, 2.8 g of protein and 146 mg of sodium compared with black beans. Minis use smaller published figures, which the builder applies for you.
Are GYG chips cooked in a shared fryer?
According to the published allergen information, yes. Corn chips and hard taco shells do not list gluten as an ingredient, but they are cooked in fryers that also cook crumbed chicken tenders, so cross contact is possible. Anyone avoiding gluten should ask the restaurant.
Why does my total not match what the restaurant shows?
The numbers describe a standard recipe. Real meals are assembled by hand, portions vary, and custom changes here are calculated from published differences rather than measured. Small gaps are normal, and the restaurant's own information always wins.
What does "gluten friendly" mean on this site?
It means the published ingredients for that item do not include gluten. It does not mean the food is gluten free or safe for coeliac disease, because kitchens share fryers, surfaces and utensils. Read the disclaimer, and speak to staff if gluten matters to your health.
Does the calculator save my order?
No. Your build and tray live only in the open page and disappear when you refresh. That is why the site needs no sign-up. If you want to keep a build, use the copy link button, which stores the choices in the web address so you can bookmark or send it.
How do I share a build with someone?
Customise an item in the calculator, then copy its link. Anyone who opens the link sees the same item with the same swaps, extras and spice level, and can change them from there.
What are Little G's and minis?
They are the smaller portions on the menu, including mini burritos, bowls, nachos and kids meals. They have their own published nutrition values, so choosing a mini is not just half of a regular item.
How do I report a mistake or a missing item?
Email us the item name, what you expected and where you saw it. A screenshot of the restaurant's nutrition information is ideal. Our contact page has the address and a few tips.
